Beginning in the Nursing Home Industry and working front lines at a local department of social services, I dedicated 20 years in service to older adults, all across of the United States, as well as BIPOC communities, Veterans and adults along the full spectrum of disabilities. As a Strategist, I worked to identify gaps in programs and services to improve benefits access for older adults at the national level. As an Associate Director of Economic Reach and Community Impact, I provided technical support and training to benefit enrollment centers in all 50 states and spearheaded a committee of national non-profit organizations and federal government agencies focused on the needs of low-income individuals. I have been instrumental in co-creating privately funded pilot programs to include restoring food sovereignty for indigenous communities. I have also convened national leaders from the federal government, civic technology and national non-profit sector across the United States on how to address systemic barriers to programs and services for communities in need. This included changes to the reporting requirements for court appointed legal guardians in the state of Virginia.
